The General Conditions of Contract and the Preliminaries section of the Architects specification are equally binding on this section.
This specification covers installation of the ARIDON® wall system including all materials, labour and equipment required for its satisfactory supply and attachment to the wall framing in accordance with the Architectural Drawings. Refer to the Architectural Drawings for confirmation of the extent of the work and layout requirements.
The Architectural Drawings indicate the general arrangement and dimensions of the timber and/or steel frames. In all cases, the installed wall frames should be site measured to confirm dimensions and set out of ARIDON® panels. The Architect shall be immediately notified of any inconsistencies or errors found between construction on site and the Architectural Drawings. The ARIDON® Installer shall be responsible for the correct setting out of all ARIDON® panels as the work proceeds.
The main contractor shall be responsible for ensuring all concrete work, framing and the work of other trades is set out and installed as per the architectural drawings and the ARIDON® Installation Manual and within the specified tolerances. The main contractor shall attend to any defective work as soon as possible following notification by the ARIDON® Installer of any defects.
ARIDON® Panels shall be manufactured and supplied by Aridon Ltd using BASF supplied EPS beads. All auxiliary parts shall be supplied by Aridon Ltd where these are specified as ARIDON® supplied parts in the ARIDON® Installation Manual. Parts and accessories not supplied by Aridon Ltd shall be new and the best of their type.
Tolerances and clearances that are not dimensioned or noted on the Architectural Drawings or the ARIDON® Installation Manual are to be within acceptable limits as required by the Architect.
The ARIDON® Installer shall liaise with all other trades prior to and during installation of the ARIDON® system as necessary for the satisfactory completion of the project. The ARIDON® Installer shall co-operate with the Main Contractor and other trades and supply and fix materials at times as agreed with the Main Contractor.
Installation of all ARIDON® supplied panels and auxiliary parts to be carried out by ARIDON® Licensed Installers. In all cases, the Licensed Installer shall be experienced, competent and familiar with the materials and techniques specified in ARIDON® Installation Manual and the relevant aspects of the Architectural Drawings.
The ARIDON® Installer shall take delivery of materials and auxiliary parts and store on site. All care shall be taken to protect all materials from damage. Guidance given in the ARIDON® Installation Manual for the handling and storage of products shall be followed. Protect finished surfaces, edges and corners from damage. All damaged goods should be rejected and replaced.
The general section 1270 CONSTRUCTION describes how deliveries are to be managed and the goods stored.
Check framing is within tolerances of NZS3604 and generally check other previously carried out work in accordance with the ARIDON® Installer checklist. Any deficiencies in the framing shall be highlighted to the builder for the builder to resolve prior to completion of the ARIDON® system and where necessary prior to the installation of the ARIDON® system itself.
ARIDON® panels and their accessories shall be constructed strictly in accordance with the Aridon Installation Manual and as detailed on the Architectural Drawings. All care shall be taken by the ARIDON® Installer to minimise dust and waste nuisance on the site including, but not limited to, use of dust extraction equipment on all powered cutting tools. In all cases, the ARIDON® Installer shall comply with the Main Contractor waste management plan or Aridon Ltd recommendations whichever is the more stringent. Wherever possible, ARIDON® panels should be cut in a dedicated room within the building.
The ARIDON® Installer is to provide an ARIDON® Installer Producer Statement on completion clearly stating the work has been carried out in accordance with the Architectural Drawings and the ARIDON® Installation Manual.
Provide the following compliance documentation: -
- Applicators approval certificate from Aridon Ltd
- Producer Statement PS3 - Construction from the ARIDON® Installer
- Other information required by the BCA in the Building Consent Approval documents. Amend this clause if protection is required from, weather, water, dust, damage, etc. Refer to the general section 1270 CONSTRUCTION for removal as part of final clean.
If special protection is required or protection is to be supplied by others, make reference in this clause to the general section 1250 TEMPORARY WORKS & SERVICES clause SPECIAL PROTECTION.
The ARIDON® Installer shall routinely clean up ARIDON® waste from the site during construction to ensure a tidy site. Remove all debris, unused materials, rubbish and equipment from the site on completion.
